Tryout Frequently Asked Questions

Who can tryout for TC United?
Any player seeking an opportunity to participate on a team that plays above the recreational level.

Is TC United only for Chinqually players?
No, TC United is open to all players regardless of where a player has played before. Prior to joining TC United, we have players that played for soccer clubs in the following counties: Thurston, Pierce, Lewis, Grays Harbor, and Mason.

How much does it cost to tryout?
Tryouts are free.

What happens at tryouts?
Tryouts consist of small sided games and large sided games observed by our committee, coaching staff and guest evaluators. Players will be observed and scored based off the assigned training vest number and will receive a score based on their tryout performance. Returning players aren't given any special preference over new players at tryouts. Coaches and evaluators are not allowed to score their own child. We recommend players attend both tryout dates for their age group.

What if I cannot attend both sessions?
We always recommend that players attend both days of try outs if it is possible, as scores are calculated based off of two days of results. If you cannot attend both sessions please let us know in advance so we may plan accordingly for your child.

What if I cannot attend try outs entirely?
While we encourage that you accommodate your schedule to attend the tryouts as posted, if this is not possible please contact Eric at Eric.tcunited@gmail.com to make the proper arrangements. Our program has processes in place to evaluate single players during two training session over our summer session.
